PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES

The primary role of the AC/AC cook is to oversee the provision of nutritious meals and snacks to youth within the mission and goals of Larkin Street Youth Services. The position’s duties include management of the day-to-day operations of the AC/AC kitchen. This position does food ordering, food shopping, menu planning, cooking, kitchen cleaning and occasional cooking for the other residential programs of the agency. The need to adhere closely to a weekly food budget and to maintain adequate records is of key importance. The position is also responsible for providing safe food handling, menu planning and nutrition education to program staff and clients and for providing cooking groups for youth.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
•Responsible for purchasing of food and kitchen equipment for AC/AC
•Prepare daily nutritious breakfasts, lunches and dinners at AC/AC and at other program sites as needed;
•Ensure compliance with all licensing, health department and other applicable regulations regarding food and kitchen.
•Responsible for adhering strictly to program food and equipment budgets
•Plans menus for meals and snacks for the program one month in advance. Maintains these menus on file.
•With assistance of the residential counselors, serve meals and clean up.
•Provide trainings to program staff on safe food handling, menu planning, nutrition, etc.
•Hold regular cooking groups for youth
•ensure the maintenance of a safe and clean physical kitchen environment

QUALIFICATIONS

•B.A degree in culinary or nutrition studies preferred
•Demonstrated ability to plan, prepare, and coordinate meals for large groups of people
•Experience managing multiple budgets
•Valid CA drivers license and acceptance onto LSYS agency insurance
•Strong computer skills including Microsoft Word and Excel
•Ability to work independently and have excellent time management
•Must also have ability to work with high-risk youth and with diverse staff, clients, and volunteers.
•Experience working with youth is highly desired, especially at-risk, homeless or runaway youth.

Position Available

 

It is the responsibility of the Assistant Director of Food and Beverage to provide supervision of all restaurant and beverage service employees within the designated dining and beverage facilities while performing excellent guest service to our patrons. The dining options under this position’s management and assistance are the Turf Club encompassing a 500 seat restaurant and lounge as well as a 700 seat group dining area, multiple concession stands, and several special event dining areas. This position works with a team including the Director of Sales and Catering, Executive Chef, Commissary Supervisor, Catering Auditor and Group Sales staff to nurture and grow the sit down dining experience at Golden Gate Fields. This is a full-time, year-round position with benefits, 401k and pension plan.

 

Essential Functions

  1. Manage daily restaurant operations including staffing, scheduling, training, payroll and work performance.
  2. Event contact person for all banquet function responsible for execution and supervision of catering oriented special events.
  3. Manage and direct fiscal food and beverage operations including inventories, POS reports and payroll in cooperation with the Food and Beverage Auditor and Accounting department.
  4. Troubleshoot issues with staff, other departments and patrons efficiently and in keeping with Customer Service standards as well as the Golden Gate Fields Mission Statement.

Golden Gate Fields is a northern California thoroughbred racetrack that serves up to 1325 in its seated dining areas.     • Manage all renovation, expansion and special projects, as needed.

    JOB REQUIREMENTS:
    * Proven experience in a leadership role in a hotel of similar size and class preferred.
    * 5+ years of facilities operational experience in a similar building required.

    * Strong oral and written communication skills required
    * Must possess relevant state/local licenses for stationary engineer

    A Bay Area family that owns a 600+ acre property in St. Helena, CA is looking for an Estate Manager. The primary responsibility of this position is to ensure that the property is in top form for all family visits. The candidate should thrive on team success and facilitate a talented team of gardeners, carpenters, and outside contractors.     Responsibilities of the position include, but are not limited to:
    . Preparing the home for visits by members of the family and their guests
